The artist
Philippe Tyberghien
The French/Belgian artist and graphic designer, Philippe Tyberghien developed a passion for animals, interior design, and photography at a very young age.
He studied architecture and art history before joining an architecture firm. After several years, he shifted his focus to design and photography.
The spark for his passion for animal portraiture ignited with Uggo, his Jack Russell, his first model. He then launched the STARANIMAL website in 2009, dedicated entirely to costumed animal portraits.
Without compromising on fashion or trends, the artist offers several collections in a wide variety of styles (classic, black and white, contemporary, etc.). Everyone can find the perfect portrait to suit their tastes and their pet’s temperament.
The artist is also committed to animal welfare. STARANIMAL donates 10% to animal protection organizations for every personalized portrait order.

A STARANIMAL portrait is unique—and so is its price! The portrait costs €79.
Regardless of the composition, background, or costumes chosen, all personalized creations are priced at €79. This price includes the creation of the portrait and its delivery in a high-definition digital format.
For €79, STARANIMAL provides a ZIP file containing your portrait in various high-definition print formats (ISO A, 2:3, 3:4).
Your portrait is created in a 30×40 cm print format (high-definition 3:4 ratio at 300 dpi). It is then adapted into other formats (2:3 and ISO A) to suit your printing preferences and make framing easy using standard sizes available online or in stores. As a bonus, you receive a smartphone format (16:9) to brighten up your phone screen.
An exception applies to the « Urban Jungle » collection, which features a 1:1 square format. Portraits in this collection are created in a high-definition 40×40 cm size, ready for printing.
High quality
Quality is STARANIMAL’s priority.
Each portrait is handmade by the artist. It takes approximately 8 to 12 hours to complete a portrait and sometimes much more if the subject is complex.
Each hair and mustache is carefully drawn to give the animal a lively expression.
No detail is forgotten: it is possible to make small sores disappear or rework a slightly twisted ear on the photo thanks to the magic of digital retouching and of course the artist’s know-how.

What format to choose ?
It all depends on the volume of the room, your taste and your budget.
Use small formats in small rooms (small entrance, hallway, hallway …) and choose larger formats (50×70 cm or 60×80 cm for example) for living rooms (living room, dining room, bedroom … .) where you will have a little perspective to admire the work.
If the portrait is hung above a wardrobe, a sofa or a bed, the large dimensions are also better suited because you cannot get up close to admire the work. A medium or large format will give a greater « presence » to the work.
Also think about the frame you will choose and whose dimensions are to be taken into account in the overall dimensions.
